Stone stairway on asphalted driveway

Hello,

I am thinking of removing the wooden staircase outside the entrance and replacing it with a stone staircase. It is under a roof (carport) and the base is asphalt. Any suggestions on how I should construct my stone staircase? Directly on the asphalt?

Sup. start with a layer of kallasfalt, then a layer of mortar, then just continue with the stones.

The kallasfalt for adhesion... (Primer) the mortar for leveling and a good base for the stones.

No! You cut away the asphalt where you want the staircase! That way the first stone gets some support.

It is important to cut precisely right!
