I am in the process of installing Lundbergs stair treads, 15 mm solid oiled oak, in my staircase. I ignored the installation advice where it states that the plastic around the steps should remain until the steps are installed. As a result, the steps have been lying unfastened in the staircase for a couple of weeks and have now warped with a concave shape upwards.
Is it possible to get the steps flat again? Maybe oil the underside? Can they be made flat by screwing from underneath? Is there any risk with this, such as cracking?
