I am going to replace the door on a basement room. It is not an exterior door as the room is in the basement and you enter from a corridor in the same basement. So, an indoor door, but it needs to have some security features. It is currently an old changing room with swing doors.
The width is 130 cm and I plan to reduce it to 80/90cm. This means that 40-50cm needs to be covered. What is the safest way to do this? Build with blocks, construct with wooden studs and reinforcing bars? Today the walls are solid basement walls, 20 cm thick.

Just build up with optional masonry blocks! Sure, you could embed some rebar in the old wall that sticks out so the new wall can connect to it, but that's probably overkill (though I would probably do it anyway).
Since I've only made a grill with lekablock, the question is what to use for masonry to get the best result?
The wall is then a classic plastered white wall. There is probably some technique to do that too
Today there is an old wooden trim around the door opening that is relatively straight in the studs, you shouldn't keep it and build on it instead. Seems to be pretty firmly attached anyway ...
