Stair renovation kit

Hi

I'm going to renovate a staircase and after much consideration, I'm thinking of using step kits from Duru, Stepkit, or similar.

I just wanted to ask the forum which brand you have worked with and how you found the quality to be when you installed them and some years later.

There is quite a difference in price between different manufacturers.

Haven't found an answer to this question in the forum.

I did it with a pine staircase from 1985

I believe it was Lundbergs. 8 mm oak with a rounded front edge that covers the edge of the stairs.
And a back edge list as the staircase is open.
First, I painted all the spindles and sides (there are good names for those parts).
Turned out great. It's now 6-7 years ago, and it still looks good.

I have since supplemented with LED strips on the front edge underneath. See picture.

If you also have a curved staircase, you need a tool called a stair compass.
I built one myself.

Thanks for the quick response.
Yes, I have considered building a stair compass, but since it currently only costs about 400 kr, it's worth buying one. If I buy everything at my local Colorama shop, I can borrow one for free... But first, we need to negotiate as they are currently 6000kr more expensive.

Otherwise, someone posted pictures of one here, which was smart.

My biggest problem is that my staircase is from 1925, and the steps need to be shimmed up.

This got lengthy.

I have used both Lundberg and Step kit, both worked perfectly.
