I have painted our pine staircase and brought home 13mm parquet from Kährs, matte 3-strip oak, which will be installed with MS polymer glue. But how do I solve the stair nose issue? I don't want anything that overlaps the parquet, and it needs to hang down 60mm to cover both the parquet and the staircase step. As you can see in the pictures here, the existing stair nose is also angled:
Of course, I want a stair nose that matches the parquet reasonably well, i.e., matte oak.
I know there are ready-made stair treads, but we hope to reduce the cost by using regular parquet. The manufacturer offers stair noses, but they don't seem to cover the entire thickness of the existing step.
So far, we've spent 2000 SEK on the parquet flooring itself, which should be enough for all 13 steps. If we bought ready-made steps, the price tag would be 7000-8000 SEK with stair noses.

I did a similar solution in my previous apartment. I cut the parquet lengthwise on the edge of the step to get it at the same angle as the step, and then I installed an oak strip at the front that I glued and nailed with brads. I was really satisfied, and it held up well during the two years I lived there.
The picture might not be the best, but unfortunately, it's all I have since I no longer live there.
