I'm working on extending an old cottage with a new section that will be a 60-square-meter angle and have built up a 2m high basement section with Lecablocks. I've seen houses with plaster that looks like it’s sprayed on in a thick layer! How do you do that? Can you do it yourself by renting equipment? The problem I have is that I would like the old wall, which was built in the early 1900s, to look somewhat similar to the new part and rebuilding/plastering the old part to make it look new is not possible, so I thought this sprayed plaster method might be an option! But how do you do it??

We hired a company to spray our facade. We had both plaster and brick on the house when we bought it and thought it looked odd. So the company smooth-plastered the brick part and then sprayed the whole house in a color of our choice. It didn't cost very much. A bonus was that they left the scaffolding for about 1.5 months so we could paint all the bargeboards, windows, and put up new gutters. We also considered renting equipment, but felt it was best to leave it to someone with experience. Send me a quick message if you're interested in pictures.
