Hello,
I am going to lower a cast ceiling in the living room that is 5m x 6m using steel profiles (hat profile). I am now wondering if I need to custom order long primary and secondary profiles or if there is any proven method to splice without getting deflection/creases.
1. Is there any standard for splicing steel profiles in the ceiling?
2. I assume it affects the cc measurement, is 45 enough or should it be reduced to 30?
3. Do you place the primary or secondary profiles on the 6-meter span?
4. How many anchoring points should there be on the primary profile for these spans?
5. Should the anchoring in the ceiling be different if splicing?
6. I assume there might be some difficulty with alignment/flatness, does anyone have good suggestions on how to do this more easily on large/spliced structures?

I have lowered a significantly smaller ceiling before and am now wondering how to approach a large ceiling.

Instructions for splicing and the number of fastening points can usually be found on the steel profile manufacturer's website.
