Considering how to "splice" concrete

I'm currently casting an edge wall in the garden. It will be like a T-element, essentially an upside-down T.

I cast the bottom today and will be casting the upright part tomorrow. Now I'm wondering if I should do anything special to ensure the concrete adheres well to the already cast part, or if a light spray from the garden hose to moisten the surface will be sufficient.

Naturally, some reinforcement is sticking up to provide grip, but still.

Hello!
In your case, it's enough to thoroughly rinse the surface. It will never be tight, no matter what you do, unfortunately. Rinse it clean and let the reinforcement do the work! =)

Thank you Magnus.

I'm adding a little extra reinforcement just for form's ;) sake.
