If you have 60 cc between the studs, there's no problem aligning the joints on them. It's unnecessary to take a risk and joint "in the air" since it doesn't cost much to buy a few extra sheets.

How far apart are your studs? I've gotten the impression that you can splice just about anywhere. My other answer was regarding wall panels.

The floor panels are double-tongued on the ends, so you shouldn't attempt to saw to try to fit the studs. If you have a long distance between the studs > cc80, you should add an extra stud in between.

Did not want to bother with extra studs.
I would have done that extra work to get it really good. Old studs with different spacing can lead to floor creaks and bounce.

They are 150mm wide beams spaced between 45-60cc. I spliced everything on the joist, added extra where it ended up outside. Probably could have done it the other way too, considering that they are tightly spaced.

You can splice between studs but it should be battened along the walls.

Should it be carded along the walls when splicing or regardless?

Yes, the board should have kottling by the wall or if you screw a block into the wall, the main thing is that it gets support.
