Spiral staircase railing, building handrail?

Hi.

We have installed a Dolle Calgary spiral staircase. The railing that comes with it is an ugly, white plastic type. Firstly, it is difficult to install due to its stiffness/shape, and the appearance is not great either. I would like tips on railings for spiral staircases that can be purchased separately, or alternatively how to build a nice handrail yourself?

All tips are welcome!

I remember that the main character in the documentary series cowboykåken built a spiral staircase with an accompanying railing. The railing was made by bending and gluing timber in multiple layers around the staircase.
