Hi!
Can I use Alcro's Lätthand sandspackel on Tretex?
We have removed the Tretex in the rooms we renovated, but now encountered Tretex in a cleaning cabinet that we don't plan to put much effort into. Is it possible to putty and then paint directly on it?

It is certainly possible, but I'm not sure how good it will look and how long it will last.
You can always buy some masonite and redo the inside of the cabinet. It will look nicer, and you'll have a bit more to attach any hooks and such for a low cost.

Hello!
I have tretex on the walls and ceiling. The first room I renovated in my old house, I used sandspackel and painted with water-based paint. I should never have done that!!! When the plastic paint dried, I got large brown spots on the ceiling. If I had painted with an oil-based ceiling paint, everything would have been fine. Now I had to remove the spackel, paint with an oil-based paint, then spackel, and then water-based paint. Then everything turned out fine.

I'm not a painting phantom, but if you had left it as it was and painted it with oil-based paint on the spackle, and then with any color of your choice, wouldn't that have worked?
I have worked quite a lot with tretex (in old houses) and as mentioned, it is fine to apply putty on tretex. Often, the tretex is nailed into clay walls (outer walls), and the long paper nails used would rust over time, causing brown spots. I rust-proof painted the nail heads before puttying to prevent the problem. Tretex was a very good material when it first came out.
Hello!
It probably would have worked to paint over with an oil-based paint and then with water-based again. There were no large areas that I needed to re-spackle, so it wasn't a problem. It was actually the salesperson in the paint store who said that I should remove the spackle and then prime with oil paint. We are all novices in the beginning!!!
