Spackle basement walls before tiling?

Hi! Do you need to apply putty to the concrete walls in the basement before putting up tiles, or how uneven can the walls be? How much can you even out with the adhesive? :-?

You can manage quite a lot with the fix (might require some experience), but it totally depends on how uneven the walls are and what type of unevenness it is. And how high your demands are for the final result.

Edit: And for God's sake, cement-based filler, absolutely no sand filler.

Thank you for your response! Then I'll have to apply filler (with cement-based filler..) where it's worst, otherwise extra adhesive.
