I don't know in which forum this should be posted, ?
We live in a house built in 1937, extended in '52 with a room on the first floor, and it has a large balcony on top of it. Now I'm considering if it would be possible to have a small spa bath on this balcony. A Softube that weighs 830 kg filled with water + 300 kg (the people bathing). Unfortunately, I don't know at all the joist spacing, etc., on the roof of the room (the floor of the balcony). Or the joist spacing in the walls. The house is built with vertical paneling (70x180 mm). The plan is to have the spa bath closest to the house wall, screw extra joists to the house wall that extend the entire balcony (4m).
How do you think this would work? What kind of joists might the extension have? The walls are 170 mm thick.
Very vague question I know, but I hope I can get some input.
If I'm going to have a spa bath with this weight and a span of 4m, what is required for joist dimensions?
Best regards, Calle
