Hi
I need a soundproof inspection hatch that is quite large.
I can't really find a suitable one. I have considered installing an interior door, but it is unnecessarily large and looks a bit odd.
The hatch needs to be about 1000x1000mm
Do any of you have any tips?

The soundproofing will not be better than the weakest link in the construction. With that said, the service hatch and its sealing need to demonstrate the same soundproofing (Rw) as the surrounding wall. If the wall is, for example, 2 layers of plasterboard, the hatch can be made of 2 layers of plasterboard but with overlap, think trapezoid drill. Provide a bit more info and I can show you how to do it.

Yes, I was planning on using 2 layers of drywall on a partition wall that hasn't been built yet. The wall will be placed in front of electrical/ventilation/network installations, so I need to have 2 inspection hatches, each 1x1m, on this wall which is approximately 3m long in total. This space also connects to a fan/heat pump room, hence the soundproofing requirement. So 2 openings, each 1x1m, in a new wall that I will now be building, which can be opened relatively easily and looks nice and quiet in the room :)

Here you see the principle itself

And this is how you can do it in your case

Hello
A bit late to ask but now it's time. Does anyone have tips on a good way to secure/lock the hatch? Preferably something that doesn't stick out too much. I've been looking for those fittings that are used for certain appliance cabinets with a kind of triangle in the middle. Does anyone know where there's a wide selection of that or if you have any other tips?
