Hello!

I am going to buy a staircase and have found 2 different models.

One staircase has steps made of solid oak and the other of stave-glued oak? Isn't this the same? If not, what is the difference?

Then I'm wondering what Beech multiplex is? Is it a type of plywood with multiple layers of veneer?

To me, massive oak is a staircase with treads made from a single piece of oak without joints. Likewise for risers. A stave-glued one has several small pieces glued together into a tread and a riser. Compare with parquet. When stave-gluing, you can select the fine pieces and saw away the blemishes. A massive staircase demands higher quality oak to start with and should therefore be more expensive.
