Hello!

I'm in the process of building my storage and am considering how to handle potential moisture in the attic. I will have 240mm insulation in the roof. When are only gable vents sufficient? It's much easier to install gable vents than to do soffit ventilation all around.

What is the problem with doing eaves ventilation, set "glespanel" with insect netting behind and you'll get a nice ventilated eave that extends out and protects the panel.
If you're going to have a metal roof or tiles, you can vent through the ridge with ridge tiles or ridge metal.

24 cm of insulation in a shed? Isn't that a bit overkill ;-)

It's not really a problem, but everything takes time, so it's nice with some shortcuts sometimes :)

What do you mean when you say install glespanel with insect netting?

Well, maybe, but it doesn't cost much extra, so why not.

By "sparse panel," I mean regular panel boards like 23X95 that you nail between, or alternatively under, the soffit tails with a gap of about 1cm between each board so that air can enter there. Personally, I think it's nicest to nail the boards between the rafters, but it's considerably more work :-)

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture, too dark to photograph now, but take a walk and you'll likely see examples of what I mean :)
