I am going to replace my window section facing the terrace with a folding door. To reduce the risk of leakage due to snow against the folding door, I am considering installing underfloor heating (electric) on the outside closest to the folding door.
The idea is to remove a part of the wooden decking, lay a thin insulation board (preferably grooved), heating cables, some sort of adhesive, and then tiles on top.

Does anyone have experience with this? What type of board would work? Other material? I have about 7 cm of building height (on top of the roof sheet, which I don't plan to touch) to work with.

How far out from the window does this heated area need to go? 30 cm for example?

Shoveling is not an option?

Nope, not planning to go out and shovel when it's just lightly snowing, but still want it dry against the window :).
