Hello, I'm planning to build a deck at the front. 5x2 m.
I have foundation blocks at home intended for 70x70. Can I build on these, or should I use 90x90?

From a load-bearing perspective, there are no problems.

Do you want help with reasonable pier spacing and dimensions of timber?

Keep in mind that 2 meters is very difficult to furnish.

Going perfectly fine, earlier this year I built a wooden deck on 70x70 posts NTR-A directly on Danish stone slabs.

2.5 meters is significantly better. But even 2.2 works well according to our tests :)

2 meters is too cramped :/

The new deck will be 2.8 to easily pass around those who are sitting.

We have a 40 sqm terrace at the back :) we'll just have a small café table at the front. Mostly to connect to the entrance steps. If you have bags, you can get in through the door :) okay, so 70x70 posts it will be. 45x170 beam. Those are the measurements I have because the terrace, as mentioned, should be connected to the entrance steps and the basement stairs xD see picture

Aha, then there's no problem. Good luck!

Thank you. The following question is whether you need to dig down plinths all the way? It is densely packed gravel for the stone slabs. I don't want to attach to the facade because there is a brick facade behind the wooden facade. Anxious about digging when the foundation wall for the drainage. There is isodrän around the house. Have 500mm plinths :p

How high does it need to be above the ground? I have the same question. I have previously always built decks on concrete slabs and think it works well.

About 50 cm. If you haven't built with posts, do you know that 70x70 will work?

K
I never wrote that 70x70 will work, it was huggan and ojji. I wrote that 2 meters wide will be good for a cafe table :)

But there shouldn't be any problems with 70x70 even though it will look flimsy.

Sorry! I see it now :) the skirt will cover the posts as long as the thing doesn't break when having your morning coffee xD
