Hello!

I live in a 1 1/5 story villa from the early 1900s. We have a chimney that runs through the house. On the ground floor, it is built into a wall, so it's not visible. However, on the upper floor, it is exposed, and you can see that it is crooked. We haven't lived here for long and there was no remark in the inspection report. No remark from the chimney sweeper. Does anyone know why it is crooked? Some old construction technique?

Nothing strange. The fireplace and chimney's placement through the roof probably didn't align during construction. As long as it doesn't have cracks or start leaning more, it's fine.
