Have made the garage nice now with plaster, fabric, and white paint on the walls.
But the interior looks terrible. Admittedly industrial metal benches, but the only one sticks out too much so the door next to it can't really open, barely at all.
Then considered building one long bench instead. Should feel larger.
Have rolling storage units under the bench and a tool board instead of a metal cabinet.
75x75 frame, then some thick board and cover it with metal.
Am I on the right track or should the frame be designed differently, etc. I have no clue.

The metal benches are now 2 pieces of 2 meters each.
So it would only add +0.4 meters if you don't count the narrower part that ends up behind the door. But I could open the door properly.

Can't you move the metal cabinet to the left (if it's narrower) and the left bench to the right?
It's always good to have cabinets that you can close, I have chemicals myself in a similar cabinet.
Unfortunately, the windows will be covered on the left side.

Agree with Micro. Cabinet by the door if it's narrower. Had the same problem by the garage door and placed an old tall IKEA bookshelf there. But as mentioned, the window can be an issue and daylight is needed as well.
I probably only covered one window, but when I put the plasterboard up, all the windows were covered, and it gets quite dark in there.

- I'm even considering finding a defective refrigerator with a glass door so it can be like in a store where you can see what fun chemicals you have.

Could you possibly move the doorway a bit?? It will be more work, but I think otherwise you might get annoyed with the workbench when you go in and out through the door. Getting something like a drink cooler (transparent) sounds like a fun idea..../ Micro
The other side of the doorway leads into a "small" room, intended as a hobby room/fine mechanics part. If the door were more to the side, I would lose some valuable wall space in there.
- A long bench would give more of a sense of grandeur, in my opinion. But I’d like to understand your perspective too, so what are the advantages of two separate benches?
It probably could have worked to take a reciprocating saw and cut an angle on the other table for the door. Feels like there wouldn't be much left of the table then, though.
