Well, slow progress, you could say. We finished the masonry in the fall and have started plastering the exterior walls. We'll finish it when the temperature consistently climbs above +5 again.
We had help from a structural engineer who designed the dimensions and decided on HEA180 over the gate and a HEA200 in the middle for support, plus some timber dimensions, etc.
Since steel prices skyrocketed, we hesitated to buy new HEA beams, and it's a good thing we did. I found a second-hand 15m HEB200 crane beam on Blocket that was enough for both the gate and the floor. So now it's a bit "extra sturdy." It's now cut and ready to be lifted, but even that will have to wait until spring.
Otherwise, we'll see how the lumber prices look. We're in no hurry, and I'm keeping an eye on Blocket and similar sites to see if we can find materials at somewhat better prices.
Thanks for the update. Exciting that you found a used one; it will be fun to follow your progress later. I have poured the slab and will start erecting the framework around Easter if the weather is okay. 12x7.8 meters. There will be a loft over the first 4.8-6 meters, depending on what solutions the truss factory's engineers come up with. There will be an interior wall 5.5 meters wide that ends at 4.8 meters, so the idea is to use it as support for the floor structure, but I would have liked to make the loft a bit deeper to 6 meters but don't want any post. The rest of the garage will be open up to the ridge. Probably with scissor trusses.
