Hi. When installing a metal roof, should it be screwed in the valley, or does it not matter?

  • Corrugated metal roof with visible screws along the ridges, questioning proper placement in the valley for roofing installation.

No!

Yes, it should be screwed into the profile bottom.

Different manufacturers of sheet metal (and screws) say different things.

If you search online, you will consequently get different answers.

However, I prefer not to have valley gutters on flatter roofs. If it slopes enough, it's actually better.

Never experienced anything other than screwing into the profile bottom. There must be a reason why the farm screws have a gasket. 🤔

It seems to depend on how easily the metal sheet buckles if you pull too much.
