A few years ago, I added external insulation to the outer walls with 95 mm mineral wool. Otherwise, there is "no" insulation in our old plank walls, except for an air gap and trätex(!?). There is no plastic film in the walls.

I am going to build a bathroom and in doing so will tear off the old gypsum on the walls inside and frame a wall according to "safe water's wet room wall 2012."

Should I insulate between the new 45x70 studs on the inside? This would result in insulation both inside and outside the outer wall.

The wall would then consist of the following, on average from inside to outside: tile - waterproofing membrane - wet room gypsum - plywood - 70 mm insulation/studs - plank wall - 95 mm insulation/studs - wind barrier - panel.

Can this lead to anything negative, or is it solely positive to insulate as much as possible?
 
anyone have opinions on this?
i.e., additional insulation of the exterior wall both inside and outside, good or bad?
 
Since you have the waterproofing layer there, you can just proceed with the extra insulation.

Edit: To be on the safe side, you can check with your insurance company to ensure they have no objections.
 
Of course you should insulate more insulation is always good.
 
ok, so since I have a moisture barrier in the wall, I run no risk of moisture problems if I install a 70 mm insulation on the inside. should I, just to be safe, create a small air gap of about 10 mm between the existing plank wall and the insulation on the inside, or is that an unnecessary measure?

is it ok with mineral wool/stone wool or should one use some form of wood fiber insulation?
 
No air gap is needed, it only risks causing drafts.
 
ok thanks. then I'll go with 70 mm stone wool without an air gap. that'll probably be great!
