I was thinking of using a molding strip in some places but I'm not sure "how it's supposed to be."

The molding is 9 mm and the standard baseboard is 12 mm. It won't look good if the deeper baseboard meets the slimmer molding?

It would make more sense if the molding is 15 mm and the baseboard is 12 mm, right?

What I mean is that the part that is 9mm in the picture should meet the skirting board which is normally 12 mm. Additionally, on the other side of the door, the standard molding is 12 mm.

Ok, thanks, now I understand why I can't find one that is 12mm

my problem is that I need a base that is 4-6mm, felt that it was easier to plane a bit on a base than on a salningslist.
