Hello!
I have a wall at home with an opening of 1900mm and would like to extend the opening by about 1000mm. (See image marked in red) However, I'm considering installing a glued laminated beam since the wall is likely load-bearing. How large should it be?
From what I could see after some sample drilling, the joist spacing is at cc1200. I would guess that the roof trusses are connected to form an intermediate floor, but I'm not sure. The house is a 1 1/2 story villa from 1983 just outside Uppsala, so it's likely in snow zone 2.0.
Best regards, Jeppe

You don't have a section of the house and maybe a floor plan?

The wall is probably load-bearing. To calculate it, a section is needed. There are likely floor joists at c/c 600 mm. Why do you want to make the opening larger? You will get a worse living room with less furniture placement options.
