Hello,
I have a center speaker in a 5.1 sound system that needs to be angled down towards the "sweet spot". Currently, it is on a customized Elfa shelf, and I want to avoid screwing into the center as much as possible.
The speaker probably needs to be angled about 30 degrees, but it needs to be adjustable in some way, for example, with a screw or different-sized blocks. Above all, the solution needs to be secure so that it doesn't risk falling down.
This is how it looks today: https://imgur.com/a/58avLce

I would probably skip the shelf and just have brackets.
Switch to slightly longer ones that stick out just in front of the speaker and make a little lip at the front, just a few millimeters so it doesn't fall off (likely you'll need to touch up the paint after such an operation) either more material or cut into the bracket to achieve this.
Then I would use the rear screw holes for the board with washer and nut and screw to adjust the rear edge.
Alternatively, experiment with pieces and make a piece to place it when you're satisfied with the angle.

There are angled brackets for Elfa wall mounts. Start with that and figure out a mount for the speaker, e.g., as described above.

Search for speaker stands, there are many and in different designs, can also be modified.
A radical idea is actually to attach wedges with the right angle to the shelf, a couple of three of them depending on how wide the speaker is, or angle the entire shelf. Then you attach the speaker to the wedges/shelf with self-adhesive Velcro. It's not as crazy as it might sound, it is already used today for similar applications.
There is also strong double-sided construction tape that should work, at least if the speaker isn't too heavy.
