Hello

I have installed a 2480 x 400 shelf and have an additional 1350mm left to create shelves on.

I bought a 1200mm with a 400mm depth. 16mm thick. The problem is that as the wall brackets are positioned today, I can only have 2 wall brackets on the 1200mm shelf anchored to the wooden beam behind.

This leaves 42cm of free shelf without support beyond the last bracket, 18cm the other way. Spontaneously, it doesn't feel good with over 40cm overhang from the last bracket. I would prefer not to install another wall rail as I would then have to mount it in drywall.

Therefore, I'm considering a few options:
Cut the 1200mm shelves to about 1000mm. This way they only extend 20cm, which should be perfectly okay.

To buy 1800mm shelves and cut them to 1350mm. Then I can place a wall rail. The problem is just that the brackets end up right at the end of the shelf. Maybe not optimal.

Third option is to mount these shelves I've bought but only have very light items on the parts lacking support underneath. However, I think it might not look professional in terms of appearance.

What do you think I should choose?

Alternative four. Screw and glue a suitable thick ledger on the underside of the protruding shelf surface, and of course, continue under the rest of the shelf surface as well. This way, the shelf will become like a T- or L-beam and won't flex as much, meaning you can load it more. The advanced option is to place the ledger at the back edge and then screw it into the wall with some drywall anchors. Since these will only need to prevent the shelf from moving straight downward, they will suffice.

One option is to purchase a top-hung system from elfa. Then it shouldn't be too difficult to securely attach to the studs.
Top-hung is one of the ways you can mount the Klick-in system. Everything hangs on the top track. Screw the top track to the wall. Hang the hanging rails on the top track and click the interior fixtures in place with the help of brackets. Choose the interior fixtures you need to store, for example, your clothes, storage items, or laundry. Since the Klick-in system can be custom sized when it's top-hung, it fits virtually in any space where you have a wall to screw into. And the only thing you need to screw into the wall is the top track.
