Hello.
Building a shed on pillars over rock, water will flow in during rain.
Since it is so low, ventilation under the foundation will occur via a gap around the joists on the long sides. The question is, how much ventilation is needed? Normal crawl space recommendation would suggest 4 round 100mm vents, i.e., 0.03 m² ventilation area.
I’m heating it, and the joists are 170mm. The plan is not to have a vapor barrier on the floor. But I realize then that maybe it will be warmer underneath with less ventilation.
20x8000mm air gap, is that too much?
