Hello!
I have been researching the possibilities of applying self-leveling compound to a 10 sqm uninsulated basement floor (house from 1948) and have encountered many different opinions on what applies. Everything from self-leveling compound not tolerating constant moisture to it being no problem.
I called Weber and they said that there is no problem using Weber 110. Some say it should be a special self-leveling compound for outdoor use, but what is that?
Another thought is, is there any self-leveling compound that gives a somewhat durable floor surface? I was thinking of laying felt carpet directly on the self-leveling compound or something similar to get a slightly warmer surface to walk on. But the surface might become too "powdery" or whatever you call it. Should I just use concrete instead of self-leveling compound? It would be nice to avoid pouring concrete as it seems more difficult to get even.
The goal is an even surface on which I can create some kind of comfortable floor, without underfloor heating. And without moisture problems.
The current substrate is concrete that is damaged after I removed a layer of asphalt that was there previously, very uneven.
