Hello!

I have been searching for quite some time without results and tested several products without being satisfied, so I am reaching out to you on this forum for advice and ideas to solve my problem. I hope you have a possible solution for this.

I am currently renovating my apartment (made of concrete) from the bottom up, removing everything, floors, wallpaper, moldings, frames, etc. Now that the walls are done, the floor is laid, and the door frames are in place, it's time to install the baseboards and door/window trims. I am gluing these moldings with a strong, suitable adhesive to avoid screwing/nailing into the concrete. This results in gaps between the wall and the moldings that I can't have.

I thought it would be easy and filled in with a latex sealant; the end result was incredibly nice, and I was pleased with my work...but...untreated latex sealant is sticky and tacky, making it a magnet for dust. It's also not something that can be easily removed with a cloth or duster; it sticks quite firmly.

I actively chose not to paint after sealing since the moldings are pre-painted, and I don't want to ruin the nice finish and have a painted surface that doesn't blend evenly with the wall. (I'm quite meticulous)

I sincerely hope there's some form of solution to hide these gaps without having to paint. Some of the things I tested are the following:

Latex Sealant: Nice white color that blends well. However, it's tacky, so dust sticks.

Construction Sealant: Nice white color that blends well. However, it's tacky, so dust sticks.

Acrylic Sealant: Not tacky, so dust can be removed, but it becomes creamy white and partly transparent, so it doesn't blend well with the molding.

What are your ideas?

Best regards,
Tobias
