I have an old hexagonal laundry room with an older partially leaking felt roof of about 30m2. Now I need to temporarily seal it over the winter. It will later be renovated and turned into a sauna, so I don't want to spend too much but still achieve a watertight solution.
The existing felt is at least 20 years old and in several layers, and apart from a tarp which is unaesthetic, what can be done? Roll on tar or a cheap felt that lasts a couple of years or something else? Now it's winter with what it entails with adhesive, etc.

Personally, I would have chosen a good tarpaulin at this time of year. Otherwise, hot asphalt works quite well but it requires some tinkering and a few dry days for it to turn out well.

About what I suspected... if I had more time, I would re-roof already now this year as soon as it gets a little cooler/drier outside. But with experience, I know that for every thing you lift, you find at least three new things that need to be addressed.
But a tarp at the driveway doesn't look nice... asphalt sounds better in that case.
