Hi, thanks for the reply. Do you mean that you've built six pieces of boards on top of each other to a total thickness of 30 cm? Or are there boards that are 30 cm thick?
We've had different ones, both 5cm and 10cm.

This dock has been in place since 1978. Switched from oil barrels to boards in 1992. Stays in all year round. The gangway is newer and underneath it is a crate 609*500*2000 because many people can stand on it. It was fixed for my wedding which took place on the dock.

It is 3x4.25 in size.

Thank you very much for the inspiring picture!

What happens to it in the winter? Does the ice form around it, or does the ice form underneath and push the dock up, or what? (If you happen to have a winter picture, that would be great.)

There are also floating blocks for docks

Called the supplier of these for the vacation. They don't call them floating blocks because they absorb water after a few years. Better with XPS not EPS

They should actually be inside sealed boxes, according to the supplier.

Two winter pictures

  • A person in a red coat stands on a snowy, frozen lake, with a wooden dock and trees nearby under a clear blue sky.
  • Winter scene with a person in a red jacket walking on snow toward a wooden cabin, leaving footprints behind, surrounded by a forest.

Big thanks! It feels reassuring to see! Now I dare to plan to build a floating dock.
