Screw or glue MDF? Or both?

Hi!

I am in the process of finishing a small built-in bench with storage. I plan to cover the front of the frames with 19 mm thick MDF, which will align nicely with the doors from IKEA.

Two questions;
How should I best attach the parts in MDF? (Screw or glue? No screw heads should become visible over time...)
What type of filler is best to ensure the joints don't show when everything is painted? I read somewhere about plastic padding. Anyone with experience there?

Wood dowels for alignment during gluing make it easier to get it in line. Glue is more than enough to hold it,
