If you intend to place plastic, diffusion barrier, between the floor joists and the chipboard, it becomes a bit difficult (impossible) to apply glue on the joists. How well does it work then with only screws and then gluing the tongue/groove on the boards?
It works perfectly!
I did it myself a long time ago. No creaking or squeaking.
I also fixed an old creaky particle board floor, which lacked plastic film.
It did the trick to just screw a little tighter.
