Hello, this forum is really great for someone who does DIY
A question... I'm working on installing chipboard and drywall on the interior walls of my newly built upper floor.
CAN you screw the drywall only into the chipboard, or MUST you screw it through to the studs behind?
I know I should have chosen plywood or OSB instead of chipboard, but oh well... too late now.

To get the plaster to adhere properly/become firmer, I would screw into the studs. It's usually not as crucial if you've installed OSB first!

My carpenter and KA said that the gypsum should be screwed c/c 400 if you cannot screw into studs, e.g., when horizontal 45-studs + chipboard meet gypsum.
