Hi, I'm planning to screw the 21x70 battens to my 22mm chipboard floor. I bought the wood yesterday at Bauhaus drive-thru and brought it indoors right away. The question now is whether I can install it this weekend or if it should be left to dry for a week?

The battens are to be installed to create a channel for underfloor heating pipes (water-based) on an upstairs wooden joist floor. It's about 17 degrees Celsius and a mere 20% humidity upstairs. The area is approximately 20m2.

Since it seems the kids are down with a fever, I'm itching to get some construction work done this weekend.

Grateful for tips

It's just about laying it in, mainly parquet that you want to leave in for a while. 21x70 works, I assume you're going to use 20mm pipe and then I think 21x120 is perfect, just lay 15cm cc, then in with plates and pipe. But that's just a detail, go ahead.

Do not screw in the middle but one screw on each side so the boards do not cup.

Great! Then I'll continue! ...already bought 21x70, so I'll keep going with that

Thanks
