Cubic meter is an extremely relevant unit in this thread.
At the sawmill/planing mill, cubic meter is the most common unit

When I buy paneling, I also consider the thickness to be of interest..

Then there's a near-record thread bump as well, but we're starting to get a bit used to the unmotivated revival of very old threads due to some forum function that flashes up really old threads in most read, or wherever it is.

As a little anecdote on this theme, I can tell you about last winter when I bought something called spring panel. It wasn't easy to find, so I had to drive around quite a bit. I needed about 100 square meters in total, so I tried to haggle the price down. When I went to buy the first batch (38 square meters), I was a bit confused when I brought my note to the cashier to pay, and they said, "That will be 510 kronor." - Oh, that's cheap, I said. "Yes, but you have a discount now that you've set up an account with us."

I suspected something was wrong but kept a straight face. When I got home, I realized that I had paid for 38 linear meters and not the 38 square meters that I actually took home.

Perhaps dishonest, but I’m honest enough to tell it here anyway. How would you others have done it?
It can be added that it was a larger construction chain (not low-cost), and I don't usually shop there.
