Even though the plaster doesn't contribute much to holding the screw, it will be much better with a fully threaded screw that goes through the entire board than the ones you have chosen now.
But is it better to attach the pulleys by screwing through both the board and plaster, than to attach the pulleys by only screwing through the board - with bolt, nut, and washer?
