I installed a ridge beam in glued laminated timber to avoid trusses on my greenhouse.
45x170 C 24 is sufficient. The collar beam should ideally sit at half the height of the rafters in this case, but minor deviations don't matter. You can replace the collar beam with a steel rod for a sleeker look. If you thread the ends of the rod, you can drill holes in the rafters and secure the rod with a nut.
I don't know how well you've studied the attachment of the glass, but my experience is that it's better to make the rafters' c/c distance independent of the glass dimensions. Instead, place purlins (45x45) at c/c 600 mm on the rafters and attach the glass with rails on top of these.
