I've just put up the rafters on my woodshed and I set them edge to edge with the posts.
I'm now wondering if I did it right, as I'm planning to clad it with cladding boards with a few cm in between for ventilation.
I've checked and seen that most have the gable rafters set a bit inside and frame outside with vertical joists and then horizontal battens for the standing panel.
Is this just to be able to insulate and use the attic or some other advantage?
Is it okay to attach battens directly to the rafter?
The tricky part is that the connector plates are in the way, so some boards require drilling holes for nails.
The posts stand on footings at 2.5 meter centers and I'm wondering how best to frame up to stabilize the wall and have something to nail the panel to?
Should there be battens on the outside of the joists for ventilation? I'm considering building it in a way that allows insulation and interior finishing in case I stop using it for wood storage.

I have seen that, for example, Götenhus, when the roof is not supposed to reach the ridge, they place the roof truss, then wind barrier directly on the roof truss, then sparse boarding and then paneling. This concerns the gable of a villa above the wall plate.
