Roof truss 25 degrees ..loft possible???
Planning to expand the house to double its size
45 sq m
So the new section will be 5×9m
And ridge height 5200
And the current outer wall will therefore become a load-bearing wall in the middle
Will be interesting to solve the attachment of the rafters in the old part of the house as these rafters have cc 600 and cc 800
I have an idea of how to do it but want more

The gable of the house is currently 5 mOldboy said:
And will thus be 10 m with the extension
The trusses are W trusses today and in my opinion thin, like 50x120 if I remember correctly
Built in 79
And the loft will be the same size in both the new and old part
The new trusses should not be a problem. It's mostly about using sufficiently thick dimensions for the load conditions.
Modifying the old w-trusses could, however, be problematic. It wouldn't surprise me if it's actually easier to just lift off the old roof and replace the trusses...

Will replace with new ones but leave half in place as they work as extra support in any case.
Have built a few houses so it should go well,
but never extended and rebuilt a roof.
So a new challenge this time.
However, I think it will be low in the ceiling with the low angle... 25 degrees will become a loft for the kids then.
But that's what I have to work with.
