We currently have a doorbell that really needs to be replaced, it looks like this:
As you can see, the cable is exposed which is not good at all, this has resulted in contact faults so it only lets in those it feels like.
The wire goes in the wall up to a doorbell on the inside of the wall which looks like this
As you can see, it doesn't run on batteries.
What is there today seems to be Friedland and maybe it's something similar that should be installed again, for example this:

But maybe this type of doorbell is out of date? Maybe wireless is the solution? How well do these hold their battery? And what would be the advantage?
As you can see, the wall is a bit tricky to install in as it is Mexican brick. My idea is to install a new button that spans 2 stones and then fill the hole behind with something like TEC7 sealant, would that be an okay solution?
