I am going to re-point an older brick building, and I'm a bit uncertain about which mortar to use.

It's an older building, around 80-100 years I would guess, so it's likely lime mortar currently. The "house" is used as a sunroom, so there's no heating involved, but it's an exterior wall and it's quite exposed to water.

The options I've considered are lime mortar or hydraulic lime mortar. The theory suggests I should use regular lime mortar because otherwise, it risks being stronger than the existing one. But as mentioned, it's quite exposed to water, and the hydraulic feels significantly safer in that regard.

Any thoughts or comments?

You should use regular luftkalkbruk.
