Currently in the process of buying a house and have a question regarding the garage..
The thing is, there are uninsulated lecawalls that are plastered on all sides except the back, and of course, moisture has seeped through that wall.. the garage itself is nothing to cheer about, but if one were to renovate it, are the walls just to be torn down and rebuilt now that one is bad, or can it just be replastered and everything will be hunky-dory?
If there is no mold in the wall, there is no reason to tear it down just because it has become damp. Lexa and concrete handle moisture. It's just a matter of plastering.
I agree with brumbjorn, no problem with plastering. It looks a bit sloppily bricked with poorly filled joints, which could be a reason for the moisture problems. Personally, I would have chosen to apply a primer to the outside of the wall before plastering to further reduce water infiltration.
