Hi,

I want a nice concrete or leveling compound floor throughout the entire basement level of my house. The house is built on an uninsulated slab (built in the 80s, gravel under the slab).

Without having looked into the matter further, there should currently be a thicker layer of cell plastic/foil under the existing floor, meaning it is somewhat ventilated. There are no signs of moisture in the basement today, so it seems to be working quite well.

My question is quite open, and I wonder if there is anything specific to keep in mind if you want to have a concrete floor instead. I don't want to create any problems that don't exist today, so ensuring the concrete/leveling compound is diffusion-open is a given. I’d appreciate tips on such solutions.

There is also a backfilled basement wall that is insulated and plastered, no signs of moisture here either, but if one is renovating this level anyway, should it perhaps be modernized as well?

The entire basement level is well-ventilated (forced ventilation with heat recovery).

Grateful for tips and experiences!
