Does anyone know if you can get hold of the cardboard I took a picture of? What is it called and is there a newer version that is used now instead? I am planning to add insulation to the attic with wood fiber and noticed that there is no vapor barrier in some places now that I've removed old debris from the attic.

It should be a diffusion-open alternative.

  • Old brown roofing felt with a torn surface and rough texture, possibly used for insulation.
Where did you find the pappen? Under the insulation in the attic's joists?

It looks like windpapp that was used in the past. That is, a tarred paper that should stop drafts, etc. Nowadays, people use windduk.

Yes, exactly, it was on the raw boards between the joists in the attic floor under a layer of peat.

But then I'll make sure to get a wind barrier. Thanks for the tip.
