I have just torn up an old floor to move incoming water and found that there is old tar paper between insulation (Styrofoam) and rough planking (which is the sub-floor before the crawl space).
Is it okay to patch with windproof foil instead of tar paper?
To clarify the construction:
Joist - rough planking - tar paper - Styrofoam - particle board.
