Hello, I've embedded a drain and electricity in plaster walls and I'm wondering what is best to use to even out the wall. Additionally, the holes between the rooms and in the floor. The wall with the drain needs to be extended by 1cm with plaster.

  • Wall with rough plaster and holes for plumbing and electrical work, adjacent to a ceiling and wooden structure, needing 1cm build-out.
  • A hole in a plaster wall showing exposed pipes near a door frame and ceiling.
  • A plaster wall with exposed pipes and holes, needing leveling for drainage installation, and areas of peeling plaster.
  • Damaged plaster wall with exposed drainage and electrical wires. Ceiling with visible holes and a light hanging from a wire.
  • Electrical panels on a plastered wall with tools and wooden planks nearby. Wall needs leveling and plastering. Ceiling corner visible.
  • A partially plastered wall with construction tools is shown, including a level and toolbox, with visible plumbing pipes along the floor.
  • A drainage pipe set into a plaster wall, surrounded by concrete. The wall features plaster repairs for leveling, and additional electrical work is visible.
  • Wall with visible plumbing and electrical installation in a room, ready for plastering. Tools and materials are scattered around the floor.
  • Wall with a recessed drainage pipe in need of plastering to even out the surface, with construction materials and a ladder nearby on tiled floor.
Ardex / plaster should do the job. I've used it for similar repairs and it has worked well.

So, gypsum plaster in the tracks but in the floor and the big holes, would you have used gypsum plaster there as well? 👍

Is concrete filler the same thing?

Why not just regular plaster? Cheap and simple. Larger holes are repaired with concrete.

Can you link to something that would work? I found one but it said it only handles 1cm in layer thickness.

Webers/Combimix Gypsum or Gipsbruk works perfectly for filling similar holes. My experience is that it's a bit easier to work with than regular plaster mortar, even though it also works.

Gypsum costs 200-300 kr for a 25kg bag, and you can whisk it to the consistency of stiffly whipped cream that fills well and, most importantly, does not shrink.

For example, this: https://www.bauhaus.se/smp-gipsputs-25-kg

Fill again with:

Top with:

If you're not expecting a perfect finish, finbetong alone smoothed at the end will suffice.
Can you use finbetong on the floor as well?

talked to the carpenter about the wall and most have said plaster mortar. But there are both A, B, and C, which one should be used? It's a basement wall that is below ground.

Do you have to prime the wall before using plaster or can you just mix and apply it? 👍
