Hello!

I have a house from 1937 with a rather worn staircase/entrance foundation. Until this morning, there were tiles on the stairs, but they have now been removed. The reasons are several: the tiles were cracked and leaking water, and they had probably been there for many years (I bought the house a year ago).

The cracks in the tiles caused water penetration, which in turn led to the construction cracking. There were probably already cracks in the concrete that weren't repaired when the tiles were laid, which I suspect since there are cracks near the reinforcement. Three long cracks have appeared on the top and bottom, from the house outward. The reinforcement has rusted and swelled, which has worsened the cracks.

Now it's time to fix the problem! Everything will be sanded tomorrow, and my plan is to cut around the reinforcement, rust-proof it (provided it's not too damaged), and then repair the cracks with Weber Easy Repair. After this, a professional will apply a waterproof barrier and lay granite slabs measuring 30x60 cm.

My questions are:

1. Is Weber Easy Repair the right material to fix these cracks?
2. Should I add new reinforcement, and is it even possible?
3. Will this repair last about 30 years?

I'm also considering replacing the rusty balcony pillars with wooden ones or alternatively dressing them up in a stylish way.

Grateful for answers before the rain comes.
