This retaining wall was built in 2020 and has drainage on the inside. I made a mistake by setting up an above-ground pool 2m from the wall, which I think contributed to the stones starting to separate due to the pressure. The pool is dismantled, but the wall is now leaning outward. Does anyone have any tips on a solution? Dig up behind and then add more macadam or a wall inside the wall? Or how can I proceed?
Yep, that's what I was thinking.J J.W.S said:
Digging by hand or machine, either works 😂 I don't think you need to dig up a particularly long stretch, it looks like the wall has given way quite briefly.
There should already be gravel and drainage pipes behind the wall if it's built correctly.
I think the wall will straighten itself if it hasn’t shifted from the bottom layer.
If you pick up a row of stones at a time, it might be quite easy to shovel away the gravel behind and then remove the next row.
Here I have linked to previous descriptions on how a retaining wall should be built depending on the height, etc.
